Morpheus is a darker version of the 'Dreamer' rose. He is a stunning 40mm across..........I would love to see what a fabulous piece will be created with him! Believe me when I say the photos don't do him justice - he's a dark, dreamy, velvet purply/blue.
Almira brings two 'consorts' in the form of frit beads, allowing you to make matching earrings - or, indeed, to follow the tutorial in Making Jewellery magazine. Almira has a wing span of 45mm, the consorts measure 12mm each.
I asked my two-year-old to name this one....banking on him saying 'Rosanna, a friend of his from nursery. But no, he said 'red'. Don't worry, you're not going colour-blind! 'Red' measures 32mm across the widest point.
Lara is the first of the 'night-blooming' lilies making it onto the site – made on a 25mm focal lentil, she has the base colours of black and dark red with black, red and grey frit for her petals.
Matching the 'Dreamer's' Ring Toppers (see the Ring XChange menu on the left), this rose is made from one rod of glass - this glass just loves being a rose, it changes colours so prettily! Diameter 34mm across the widest point.
Tasha is one of three butterflies in very straightforward colours - you might have spotted her in Making Jewellery, Issue 5, where she stopped by for a lampworking tutorial. Her wings are half light pink, half clear, and her wingspan is 41mm.
A different butterfly shape, Tamino is long and graceful, despite his wingspan of 44mm. His wings are covered in pixie dust, so he has a lovely shimmer.
Latifah is an orchid with a bit of sparkle! The green flecks are shimmering and glittering, giving her a bit of extra......je ne sais quoi! :o) She measures 40mm across the widest point.
Joseph is one of three butterflies in very straightforward colours - you might have spotted him in Making Jewellery, Issue 5, where he stopped by for a lampworking tutorial. His wings are half aqua, half clear, and his wingspan is 38mm.
Hailey is a lovely dusky rose colour – in fact, that's even the name of the glass that made her, a 'special edition' glass. She measures 36mm across the widest point.
Styx is nearly impossible to photograph - she is a stunning golden colour, with a silver-rich glass shaping her wings and part of her body. Wingspan 48mm.
Greg is one of three butterflies in very straightforward colours - you might have spotted him in Making Jewellery, Issue 5, where he stopped by for a lampworking tutorial. His wings are aqua, and his wingspan is 40mm.
A sign for new beginnings, new ventures, and emergence - the chrysalis. I'll be making more of these, but here are two to start out. I feel they would look fabulous on a simple choker, in which case the butterflu wing would point down. This chrysalis measures 48x38mm (length by width) across the widest points, and the chrysalis only has been etched slighty.
Racquel was around for a while before I decided to let her go.....she is huge (and I mean huge!), measuring 55mm across. The tips of her petals are daubed (yes, daubed! ;o)) in real gold. A very special rose, that took a long time to create, and I hope it will bring somebody joy!
A stunning mottled dark glittery pink wing for Seika - meaning 'summer' in Japanese. I hope she brightens up somebody's dreary winter day! Wingspan 42mm.
I haven't made orchids in a while, so there are two this week. Kirstin is not small, she measures 47mm across the widest point. She's made of ivory, orange & yellow glass.
